In my experience, "may actually be good for you" may be a bit of a stretch except in specific circumstances, such as in the treatment of alcoholism as cited in the article. But I certainly agree that LSD does not "automatically result in debilitating flashbacks, uncontrollable paranoia attacks and a desire to leap off buildings" or cause any of the long term problems that the anti-drug forces worry about.

Back in the early days of LSD, the two common dangers were that functional schizophrenics who were barely hanging on could slip over to the bad side and not come back and kids who were arrested and abused by cops while under LSD influence could have long-term mental problems.
There is indeed a potential medical use for both LSD and ecstasy. But street versions of these drugs are often mixed with with strychnine or other chemicals (LSD is easy to make, but mescaline and psilocybin aren't. So dealers like to take basic LSD, mix it with other chemicals and sell it as something more rare.) And users often mix LSD with alcohol, opiates, etc. It's not unusual in certain crowds for people to take pills or whatever is put in front of them without even asking what it is. That's seriously dangerous.
A well-regulated drug only used under proper medical supervision - that's the way to do it with LSD.

I just wonder how this study was funded. Better UK than US and our taxes. Turn on, tune in, drop out on your own dime.
Oop, correction..Norway. That explains it.
Okay, I take that back about Norway. I understand it has a conservative govenment. Interesting.

LSD and related drugs could help many people deal with alcoholism and depression. Two common problems in Norway. Worth some research money if it saves lives and health-care money of Norwegians.

"LSD may not be bad for you, says study"
Okay, now that I think of it, I wish the study all the LSD it wants.
