Has anyone noticed how TV screens are getting larger, and devices like Smartphones are getting smaller? The new generation of "phones" will be in your eyewear.
What I'd like to see is more communication with the "otherside"...or isn't it possible? Maybe later on. Technology has gone so far, why is the otherside lagging so far behind? Just wondering.

Well, I am firmly in the skeptics camp on this stuff, but did you know that the inventor of the telephone, Alexander Graham Bell, and Thomas Edison both spent years trying to invent a telephone system that would allow people to speak to people on the "other side"? The inventor of the Spiricom claims to have succeeded in building a machine which can be used to communicate with people on the "other side". news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/4185356.stm

To my knowledge, there is no evidence whatsoever that the "otherside" exists. Lack of evidence doesn't prove anything, but, well, how long are you going to wait for a bus that doesn't come before deciding that it's not coming?

Blarney - Thanks for the information - Didn't know that Bell and Edison had both worked on this idea - communicating with the other side. Raybar - Feel that any information given to you about reaching the other side - will never convince you or turn you into a believer. try the webside . This websie contains a wealth of information.

Are you afraid of dying jem? Does the idea of oblivion bother you?

Joan -
Your question was, am I afraid of dying. The honest answer is, "I don't think so."
I've led a long and interesting life. It might be time to rest.

What if it means oblivion? I know you believe in after-life, but put that aside for a moment. What if death means end of existence? Does that change the answer you gave?

Joan - Here's an example....I have been keeping journals for about 40 years, now on my 30th book. So...
since my memory of past events has been fading, when I read over those "books" it's like reading about someone else's life. Most of my past years in a sense, don't exist for me. So if that's what will happen, then it's no big loss. My past life is already into oblivion.

Here's a thought that I have had about life and dying.
When we have put in a long day and we're very tired, we often long to get into bed and sleep. We don't think about awaking up, we just take that for granted.
I feel that way about life and death. There comes a time when our bodies are no longer like they once were. Eyesight grows dimmer, hearing becomes more difficult, our teeth are not the same, our beautiful hair becomes thinner, and then there are all those aches and pains. Yes, we soon long to lie down and sleep...with the hope or confidence that we will awake in a new body...much like shedding a worn out "vehicle" for a new and better model.
I can't prove this. This is where faith is needed.
