People have no problem lying. They justify their behavior by saying, "I was angry." That certainly doesn't make the unjustly accused feel better or compensate him for damages to his good name.

Basic skepticism. Don't accept ANYTHING without evidence. But then follow the evidence wherever it leads, even if you don't like it. Unfortunately, the majority of folk only do "confirmation bias". They only accept evidence that agrees with what they already believe and deny things that challenge their ingrained beliefs. 8-<
