At 55 millions years old, Archicebus is the earliest fossilized primate yet found. The language in some of the reports I have scanned is a little mushy, and a careless reader might get the impression that this animal is being called a human ancestor. It is not. See the diagram near the end of the article - Archicebus is thought to have lived shortly (on a geological time scale) after the last common ancestor of tarsiers and apes, but on the tarsier side. www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-22770646
