Apparently, Sterling's racial bigotry has been known for years. In 2006, he was sued for refusing to rent apartments to black people. He was forced to pay over $2 million to settle. In 2003, he was sued for trying to force black tenants from his apartments. He paid an undisclosed sum. Yet, in 2009 the NAACP gave him a "humanitarian" award! They were about to give him a second award when this story broke. nypost.com/2014/04/30/sterling-has-long-been-an-unaddressed-disgrace-to-nba/Bob

Sports fan that I'm not, when people were talking about him at lunch Sunday, I had to ask who he was.

Some pundits are now saying that because of the recording and public disclosure, it's similar to the NSA taking away our privacy. And like how people in a dictatorship were encouraged to spy on their neighbors. One answering comment was that the girlfriend could just as well have called a press conference and told what was said to her. My opinion is that the guy was being stupid to trust his girlfriend, What did he expect? And this is nothing like the NSA. That's stupid to think, too.

The government shouldn't be allowed to take away our privacy, but his girlfriend isn't the government. His tough luck. But he was asking for it. Bob

Right, the First Amendment is only about government abridging freedom of speech, not mistresses.

I find it funny that everyone is accepting of him having a mistress yet want him to lose all he has because he doesn't care for black people....which is weird to me since alot of NBA players are black.
I don't agree with him about that but I certainly don't agree that someone should lose all they have because they expressed their opinion in a private conversation.
I think his mistress is an even bigger @sshole than he is.
