"Cheap, safe drug kills most cancers"

I've been doing a lot of research into the use of cannabis oil as a treatment for cancer.
When I first heard about this claim years ago I dismissed it as propaganda put out by the legalize cannabis lobby.

I was also aware of the conspiratorial claim that the pharmaceutical industry was suppressing information relating to the use of hemp oil as a treatment for cancer because cancer treatment drugs represented one of its most lucrative lines. If a cure for cancer were found tomorrow, in other words, big pharma would lose billions of dollars.

When I read the New Scientist article linked above - dealing with trials into DCA as a cancer treatment - I read some of the research papers and then got sidetracked into other "unconventional" cancer treatments. And I was surprised to discover that the evidence for cannabis oil as an effective treatment for cancer is actually quite strong. I expected to find only anecdotal evidence (you know the kind of thing: stories that can't be verified about people who can't be identified). But in fact not only is the anecdotal evidence a lot stronger than I expected, there is also a surprising amount of positive evidence from peer-reviewed research.
