Babies' herpes linked to circumcision practice

I saw an article about this some months ago. The idea is that making it bleed a little will flush out anything that may have gotten into the wound. Fair enough. In times past, before there was knowledge of bacteria and viruses, and before medical equipment was available, applying suction by mouth might have made sense. But now, it is just stupid.
