Interesting article, but ""I've been a solar physicist for 30 years, and I've never seen anything quite like this" makes my laugh. Harrison's 30 years of observations vs the sun's 5 billion years of activity. Even the 10,000 years of ice cores gives a picture of only the sun's very recent past. It's no surprise that something surprising is happening.
