Does your ego know no bounds? So, really, you have to let us know whatever you say or do anywhere? "Gosh, gee, look I wrote a letter & now I'm so proud to show you I can write!"
or
Thank you Zak, I was needing desperately to know of your latest achievement. I'm ever so grateful!

Well, neither of those scenarios would be correct, actually. It occurred to me to post that comment here after I'd posted it on The Guardian, and then I figured I might as well just post the link, since that way you'd see the whole thread, and any responses to my post. When I post messages on the Guardian pages I usually click the "share on facebook" link anyway. A lot of people do the same thing (which is why there are "share on facebook/twitter" links at the bottom of each post). Since there is no "Share on FACTS" link, I posted the link here instead. It has nothing to do with ego.

We all do so much sharing today! All of us, all of our thoughts, are so worth sharing! We all must let others know everything we say, everything we do! We're all so important----to Ourselves. Surely others want to know! Or, do they?
It occurs to me we share everything, except resources. Then, you're on your own Jack.

Shared on a Need to Know basis because you needed to know.

PS - People do share resources. Last week I shared my house with a facebook friend. And this week a different facebook friend offered me the use of her city centre apartment when next I was in Dublin. I've often seen people on facebook offering things like phones to people who've lost or broken theirs. And just the other day one of my many cousins - who's a taxi driver - offered to collect an old lady (a fb friend he's never actually met) on Christmas day (when taxi drivers in Ireland normally don't work) and take her to and from her daughter's family's house. I've also seen fb friends deliver packages for each other, and offer overnight accommodation not just to fb friends, but even to friends of fb friends. And a month or two ago a group of people chipped in to pay the college entrance fee of a guy in Lebanon that they didn't know from Adam. So you're definitely wrong if you think people don't share resources.

Well, one has got to be on Facbook to mainly to read other Facebooks. It's nice to be trusting, but also really stupid. I mayself would rather be non-trusting. That's because I have a brain that thinks. I remember when FACTS used to include IP addresses in responses. You do remember that, too, I'm sure. And did so the administrators of this forum and every other. We just decided to just be willing to take our chances. And finally we found out that was wrong. The era of innocents was over.
I did click on a cartoon on google once which suddendly took over my computer, and I mean literally on the desktop which appeared in homongous large letters said that I was on these porographic sites and I needed to go on this other site to pay to have it go away. I logged off my computer and they were still there. Like right. FUck Them. But see, they needed to have my internt stll working to have my payment to go to them. I have norton symnatecs and they have a symnantecs eraser which I used to erase those criminmal craps.
It worked. You just never know when you're going to click on a criminal site. I had clicked on an an innocent seeming cartoon, and I could have been in trouble, espcially if I had been at work. There are bad folks around every corner. Don't think there aren't. Be very careful,.

The above is what I saw when I clicked on your link Zak.

Do you have to have a facebook account in order to see a facebook page? I didn't know that. I thought you could still see the person's page, but you just couldn't post messages etc.

I know that if I google a person & they have a facebook page I will click on that link & see at least a part of the person's page, but that it all. Then I'm directed to log in or sign up.

Did you notice that Desmond Tutu wasn't invited to Mandela's funeral? That family has - what is it you say in the US? - issues?
