But that's not what we were promised, was it?The president said many times that 1) "If you like your present insurance, you can keep it." 2) "You premiums will not go up." Both of those are not true. Bob P.S. The link you posted says over and over that the "administration" announced in 2010 that may people would not be able to keep their existing policies. I read that link over twice and couldn't find when and where they were supposed to have said that. BTW, "Media Matters" is a "progressive" spin site. Hardly objective.

It is my understanding that these particular issues are mostly in the individual policy market. I admit that I have little time to keep up with the news, or to investigate for myself (work-work-work), but that is what I keep hearing.
What percentage of all health care insurance policies in the U.S. are being cancelled or having substantial premium increases?
What percentage of all health care insurance policies are individual policies?
It is only to be expected that there will be "winners" and "losers" in a major reorganization of any large system. If the percentage of people with these problems is low, and is vastly outnumbered by people who are not facing such difficulties (I don't know whether that's the case), then things may be on a reasonable track.
Of course, those affected by this are feeling screwed, and perhaps rightly so. But adjustments can be made as things settle down. All the hysteria and hyperbole now, when the system isn't running yet, seems a bit premature.

Where is your supporting evidence? Bob Every post that you've ever written. Even the posts about how over 100 million people in India and over 300 million in China were raised out of poverty in the last two decades because government economic controls were reduced? You said I never posted anything positive, but I posted extensively about those. Isn't lifting millions of people out of poverty a good thing? And they didn't end up in caves. If anything, they got out of caves. Bob
