Unfortunately we can't change channels. We're part of the show.

Bob,
Are you referring to the Democratic debates or something else?
I only caught the "highlights" on YouTube.
You can probably guess what I thought of the parts I saw.

I don't really watch them unless there is someone in them I find entertaining. Generally speaking, those things bore me to tears.
It's ludicrous for anyone to say what they'll do as president because nobody has a crystal ball. Events occur and whoever has the job needs to roll with the punches and remain standing no matter what. None of the debates can possibly be structured to expose that particular quality which, strictly speaking, is the only one I think actually matters.
What would you call it? Adaptability plus a refusal to give up? I'm not even sure I can put it into words.
I've already chosen my candidate. Same one I chose after careful consideration last time around. So I didn't bother with the Democratic debates.
If I were a Democrat (which I haven't been since I was fourteen) I'd be hard pressed to pick a candidate from that field.
Biden, has my sympathy. He appears to be in the early stages of Alzheimer's. My mother-in-law suffered with it before she passed away. It's a very sad condition and his family is not doing him any favors by remaining in denial. Insofar as the other investigations of past actions on his part, I suspect he will no longer be "there" to be indicted even if wrong doing is proved. Would they prosecute a shell of a man? I don't know the law regarding that.
Mayor Pete is slick. Too slick for my taste. Reminds me of something prepackaged for mass appeal but there's something not quite "real" about him. My radar says this fellow isn't to be trusted.
Bernie is a crazy communist. I think back to my childhood and remember all the cold war filmstrips I was forced to watch about how to survive after an atomic bomb attack. There is no way on God's green earth anyone with any sense would vote for a man who supports the old style Soviet Union communism. Bernie honeymooned there. Who honeymoons in a Communist country? He can call himself a Democratic socialist or whatever the heck he wants. I know he's a communist.
Ah Liz -- when she figures out who she really is people might decide to listen to her. She jumps on whatever wagon passes by that she thinks will get her the most votes. What does she really believe? I don't think she knows. But she's endorsing far left socialism these days.
Tulsi -- she's the "best of show" but still too left for my taste.
That other lady (can't remember her name) probably doesn't have a chance. If I can't remember who she is- I doubt anyone else does.
Same goes for most others.
Bloomberg-- he's got a personal vendetta with Trump. That's the wrong reason to run for President. So I wouldn't listen to him on that basis.
My candidate is, of course, Trump.
He has his faults, true. But he does what he says he is going to do. And I do believe with him, the best is yet to come.

I don't watch those "debates" either. But it seems to me like politicians are beholden to themselves and not their party. For example, Bloomberg switched his party twice already. And Sanders keeps switching between "Independent" and the Democrats.
