Frankly, I am fuming. I am more than a little fed up with "Hollywood" types opening up their big mouths and saying things that would land a non-famous person in jail.
Two examples from today's news:
You've no doubt read that Iran has put a bounty of $80 million on Trump's s head. Today George Lopez said he'd do it for $40 million. Why doesn't he get arrested for threatening the President?
In fact, NOBODY ever gets arrested for threatening Trump or his family. But in the past, that was always a crime so where is the secret service and why are they sleeping on the job? I don't care if George Lopez is famous or not, and I don't care if he thinks he is joking or not. I want him jailed for a LONG, LONG, time.
Also, that creep Michael Moore tweeted to Iran's Ayatollah and made statements that are a violation of the Logan act.
Why hasn't he been arrested either?
I am tired of these Hollywood types flaunting the law and getting away with whatever they feel like doing.

Remember all the many, many conservative death threats against Obama and Hillary? Not a single arrest as far as I know. And some by famous people, done in public. My thinking is that the SS won't arrest someone unless they think that they can get a conviction, and these outbursts from both sides are not serious enough for a trial.
Headline August, 2007 - Ted Nugent Threatens to Kill Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton During Vicious Onstage Rant
---Decked out in full-on camouflage hunting gear, Nugent wielded two machine guns while raging, “Obama, he’s a piece of shit. I told him to suck on my machine gun. Hey Hillary,” he continued. “You might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless bitch.”
And so on. Any arrests? No? Any negative reaction from Republicans? No? So why should things be any different now? Same rules for both sides.

Hi Fred:
They should have been too. Even though I personally think Obama should never have been president in the first place - as long as he was -- death threats should have resulted in prison.

Agreed. I don't like either side being allowed to make death threats. It is illegal and should be stopped. But I am seriously irritated when Reps whine about things done against Trump that Reps did against Obama or Clinton. For that matter, Reps these days are whining a lot about all sort of things the Dems are doing, but they learned the tricks from the Reps in the first place. Trump impeachment a witch hunt? The Barr investigation spent 2 years investigating H. Clinton and came out last week admitting that they found nothing. Yes, the Reps were using the government to do politically-motivated investigations against Dems years before the impeachment stuff came up. And now Trump is whining that it's not fair and people are picking on him. No one in history has ever had it so bad. Of course, in his case, he may really not remember as far back as a couple of months ago. LOL

Hi Fred:
Actually, Obama took things to new levels. Crazy Maxine couldn't even keep her mouth shut when she bragged about how he used "the hammer" to spy into people's records he had no business accessing. He weaponized the alphabet agencies against his political adversaries. And he dragged Five Eyes into his schemes. He's in deep do-do. And once the Durham report comes out somebody is going to jail. I don't know if they will convict him. He's certainly guilty as hell- but he is black and in today's world -- that absolves you from all your sins.
He should go to jail. But I have little faith in our justice system when it comes to convicting the first black president of anything. Jesus Christ could come down from heaven and be a witness for the prosecution and Obama would probably still get away with it because the courts will be afraid of a backlash due to race.
Don't misunderstand me. He is a criminal. It wouldn't matter if he were purple polka dotted -- he would still be a criminal. It is his character that is the problem, not his race. But I still think his race will get him off the hook for something that would sink him if he were white or Asian.

All presidents use the gov against their political foes. It's that whole thing of Congress letting presidents have too much power. But if you expect any great revelations about Obama, prepare to be disappointed. Not because he's black, but because he didn't do anything that George W. or Trump did. The Durham report is a hatchet job, only looking for dirt on political foes and ignoring stuff done by Reps. So the Reps can't prosecute Obama without dragging in their own guys.
This is a particular problem for Trump, because not only is he a criminal, but several of his kids are potential jail birds for various scams and influence peddling that they have done since taking office. Look at how many Trump staffers have been convicted of felonies so far. More on the way. That's what the Durham report is supposed to do - take attention off the known criminals in the Trump camp. I don't expect anyone to ever be prosecuted based on anything in that report.
BTW, how do you like son-in-law Jared Kushner is doing in his job so far? He was put in charge of stopping the drug epidemic and creating peace in the Middle East. Three years of "effort" and things have only gotten worse. But he has made quite a bit of money selling access to Trump and influence peddling. The very things that Hunter Biden was accused of. Maybe Trump should bring in someone who actually knows something besides how to run scams. LOL Anyway, if they ever prosecute Hunter, they'll have to put Jared up there beside him.

Hi Fred:
Short answer because I'm not feeling too well -- I am not particularly wild about Kushner and Ivanka (not that I know much about them beyond what I read on conservative sites). The general consensus is that they are far too liberal to adequately represent the wishes of the MAGA voters. If I have any complaints -- they would be along those lines.
As far as "business" unlike Biden's son-- it's my understanding that Ivanka (like her brothers) always worked in some capacity in the Trump organization before he became president. One assumes she has some business acumen as a result.
The thing about business (which a lot of people do not understand) is that some deals take a very long time -- particularly in the area of real estate acquisition and building upon a newly acquired property. In fact, depending on what is being planned and how is it supposed to be executed, it can reasonably take years. Someone looking from the outside in has no idea when the project actually began, or when contracts were signed.
The point is -- once a contract is signed, there is a legal obligation to follow through to completion. If the money being generated is the result of contracts signed before Trump was elected and is merely being carried out as per legal agreement -- there is no problem except in the minds of those who want to draw a parallel between Biden's son and the Kushners.
Ivanka always had big money, always worked for the Trump organization interests all over the word, and she can prove this was the case was before her father attained the office of President.
Hunter Biden did not make big money until his Daddy became Vice-President and conveniently, all Hunter's money was made in the geographical areas in which his father had political control. Besides, quid pro Joe has bragged on tape about his extortion. Truthfully,a person who pulls a stunt like that seldom does it just one time.
You'll have to trust me on this -- personal experience. Unless you've dealt with these types of people and their total lack of ethics you wouldn't believe it possible that anyone could act like that. In fact, I distinctly recall being flabbergasted that anyone could even think like that (and I learned quickly at the ripe old age of 23 to watch my back, trust no one when it comes to money, and keep a good lawyer on retainer).
On the other hand, I read Trump as being as ethical as big business permits him to be -- and that's saying a lot. That doesn't mean he doesn't know the score. He has to, or he wouldn't have survived as long as he has.
And in politics, I hope he is as ethical as any situation permits him to be -- however, I don't require my president to wear a halo. I want him to get the job done, with as good an outcome as he can get, for as little cost to our country and himself as he can manage. That's a tall order. But I believe he is up to the task. I have faith in him.
Frankly, I admire his ability to keep on keeping on in the face of all the bullshit the Democrat Communists are throwing at him. He endures.

>If the money being generated is the result of contracts signed before Trump was elected and is merely being carried out as per legal agreement -- there is no problem ---Except that they are using taxpayer money to travel the world and make new deals.
>On the other hand, I read Trump as being as ethical as big business permits him to be ---Hmmm... you mean like when he had to pay $2 million as part of a settlement in which he admitted he misused funds raised by the Donald J. Trump Foundation to promote his presidential bid and pay off business debts? Or the fake veteran charity he formed and never gave any money to vets? Or Trump University? There's a reason he and his family have been permanently banned from ever founding such things in New York state.
>Frankly, I admire his ability to keep on keeping on in the face of all the bullshit the Democrat Communists are throwing at him. ---Then you should really like Obama, because the Reps and conservatives did much worse to him for 8 years. Yet he persevered. 8->

Hi Fred:
I haven't seen a shred of evidence that these are "new" deals. I sincerely doubt the Democrats have access to any of the Trump Organization's records. So Democrats can speculate up the kazoo and that's pretty much all they can do.
I don't know anything about the first two items. I'd have to know a lot more about New York politics and whether or not the people who did the "investigations" are above board. For all I know, the cicumstances were as legitimate as the phoney hoax which began the Mueller investigation. If the present mayor of New York is any indication of the kind of people running things -- my initial response would be to dismiss all these claims as bullshit.
The university claim -- I'd need to know what Trump has to say about it -- did he lend his name to an enterprise for a set fee and have no other input?
Also -- keep in mind people have to bear some responsibility as well. Unless someone held a gun to their head and forced them to sign on the dotted line -- I have to assume they willingly and stupidly signed a contract without letting a lawyer check it over. A very expensive lesson learned to be sure -- but totally avoidable if you're not prone to seek out "get rich quick" schemes.
Thing is...since it appears Trump himself was never "on the scene" personally, it makes me wonder if he too was victimized by some middle man who purchased the use of his name. He may have assumed things were going well at the place because the Better Business Bureau gave it varying ratings (at one point it rated an A+.)
I wasn't there. But I don't believe (given what I've heard of his many personal charitable acts) that he went out of his way to screw poor people over. There's more to this story that we don't know.
As far as Bathhouse Barry -- I didn't like his friends. I didn't like him. He and his buddies can take their "fundamental changes to America" and put them where the sun don't shine.
Our constitution is fine, and doesn't need any changes from him and his ilk.

>I haven't seen a shred of evidence that these are "new" deals. ---Here's the basic problem. If you only accept evidencne from those you consider politically pure (Fox News, Breibart, etc.) you will never see anything bad about Trump. When Trump says or does something stupid in public, the right-wing new doesn't talk about it at all except to promote Trump's denials. If you want to get a sense of what' really going on out there, you have to read stuff from both the left and the right and see WHY they say ceretain things did or did not happen.
>Our constitution is fine, and doesn't need any changes from him and his ilk. ---That's the way I feel about Trump. I really believe that he is the most dangerous threat to the Constitution that has happened during my lifetime. And if he is reelcted, we will be moving quickly toward a dictatorship. 8-<
---I don't care whether he is remmoved from office, but I do want to see Congress step in and take back some of the powers that they have so carelessly given to presidents over the past few decades.

Hi Fred:
But you didn't seem to have a problem with the fellow who had "a pen and a phone" (as he put it -- talk about a president who does what he wants!)
Actually, Trump enforces laws already on the books. The only new proposals are those involving illegal aliens. I won't use the PC term "undocumented" because that implies they haven't done anything wrong when they have illegally entered our country.
Trump is an America first president (heaven and the saints be praised for finally giving us someone who cares about us for a change). Personally, nothing he has done strikes me as being something that shouldn't have been done.
The Democrats have always been crooks but they've become totally insane. They're letting people out of jail for no earthly reason other than they feel like doing so. They're letting people shoplift up to $1,000 in some cities and won't let police arrest and prosecute. How long do you think businesses can keep operating if they average several shoplifters a day?
They want to open the borders and give free health care and other government services to everyone who comes in and make working citizens of the United States pay for these people. They are crazy.
A couple of days ago, that goofy Democratic billionaire that's running for President was on television claiming every city should be modeled on the cities on California because they are so progressive. He is INSANE. There is human excrement in the streets in California and he considers those model cities? Totally bonkers!!
No. No. And no! Mainstream media tries to convince you that evil is good, down is up, little is big, and every other mixed up pile of crap you can possibly imagine.
If you watch enough of that garbage you get brainwashed.
I think highly of President Trump and it has cost me close friends. But I don't care. I understand that they are brainwashed and don't even realize it. The left wing garbage is insidious. It works its way into popular culture and pollutes society through television. The best thing to do is choose programs carefully.
Hopefully, Trump will make America great again. By that, I mean go back to a time when people could safely walk the streets without fear of crime. People were more likely to have stable family units rather than "baby mamas" and "baby daddys" and children nobody wants to support. There were some problems, but it wasn't an "alternate lifestyle choice" that was applauded and encouraged.
People were just plain nicer. They didn't have a perpetual bug up their kazoo, nor did they go around believing the world owed them something. They had initiative back then and believed in working for what they wanted in life. The Democrats have created a welfare mindset that is now evolving into socialism.
This nonsense must stop. Frankly, socialism is a fancy word for a system to subsidize lazy, envious people. "Redistribution of wealth" is just gobbledygook for "theft". Any way you cut the mustard, all the free stuff the Democrats are promising IS NOT FREE AT ALL. It will be paid for by wages TAKEN BY FORCE from working American citizens.
My suggestion for those with bleeding hearts who feel they must do something to "help" is this -- join the peace corps. That way you can help to your hearts content without attempting to force the other half of the country to bankroll your warped concept of "compassion".
I have no problem helping the mentally ill, the physically handicapped, the elderly, or small children -- but I never thought the welfare "lifestyle" as practicesd in Chicago helped anyone. It just created a generational dependency among able bodied people gaming the system.
Socialism would be a thousand times worse.
