As brick-and-mortar retail store shut down, they will likely be converted to warehouses and customers will get their stuff delivered to their homes without going into stores. Walmart, Whole Foods and many others are already jumping onto home delivery hard. Work from home, have your pay deposited into your bank account, order all your food, meds and clothing online. Computers are getting much better at recognizing our emotions, and, when we go online, they will using that information for all sorts of purposes – to target ads, etc. And maybe we’ll want them to.
4. We’ll Crispr the Hell Out of Things—but Not, at First, the Way You Think
Crispr is a breakthrough in gene-editing technology. The most likely first uses will be to design home-testing kits for various uses, and, after that, probably some serious tweaking of what it means to be human.

Cheaper to run, fewer wrecks from lack of sleep, etc. Already happening in local deliveries under more controlled conditions, but soon, the nation. The worst problem is human drivers who do dumb things.

Why pay for an office when your employees can just sit and home with VR goggles and do all the same work there. Imagine a staff meeting where you see the room and the people, but it’s all VR. Maybe 5 years or so down the line.
7. The Blockchain Will Rebuild the Internet as We Know It
Blockchains are databases that allow several online services to be scattered across several different computers. No central machine. Successfully used in cryptocurrency for years, it’s a good model for future online business. Already being used by a few.
