So big deal. What is new? Milkkel has been talking about this brain in a vat for ages already. Where be you, Mikkel?

Small steps, Lily. Sometimes breakthrough move us forward in giant leaps. But most of the time research proceeds a little bit at a time.

So big deal. What is new? Milkkel has been talking about this brain in a vat for ages already. Where be you, Mikkel? "Brain-in-a-vat" is different. That is a problem in philosophy where the question is: What if you were a brain in a vat and some scientist was putting information into your brain? That's a theoretical problem. This article, on the other hand, is about something real. It is actually happening. Bob

So philosophy is worthless in the "real" world? Is that what you're saying?

So philosophy is worthless in the "real" world? Is that what you're saying? No. I'm saying that one is a theory and the other is an actual procedure. Bob
