Interesting ideas. It's a shame that potentially useful and versatile raw materials are being burned for fuel. My high school chemistry teacher mentioned this about oil -- in 1963 or 64, my junior year. Here's a recent TED talk about another "new use for old materials" -- replacing a lot of steel and concrete in construction with wood. www.ted.com/talks/michael_green_why_we_should_build_wooden_skyscrapers.html

And I started out rather skeptical. I also find it interesting that his last name is "Green".
