.....what would you say?
The question again:
If you could call yourself five years ago and had 30 seconds, what would you say?
I'll post the link later so you can compare your answers to the ones who answered this question.

I would say, keep a journal! You think you'll just remember things, but you don't. If I had only kept a journal when I visited Vienna those four years, I could relive it all. Or just about living itself. It all just slips through your fingers. I guess it's not too late. At least, that what I would tell myself. About growing older, I would say to myself, no matter how old you think you are now, you will look back in five years and wish you were that age again. So no matter how old, enjoy it NOW!!!

Dear Lily:
I would tell myself to go for Reiki. I really wish I'd started it years ago -- the results in my life (from resolutions of issues that have bothered me for decades to improvements in my physical health) have been astounding.
It is -- perhaps the single most helpful factor in implementing change I've ever come across.

I've been thinking about this since you posted, Lily. Honestly, I can't think of anything specific. Sort of strange, don't you think? Is it because there aren't too many regrets or is it because I'm just older and realize that the past is gone, I did what I did or didn't do because of who I am and would most likely do or not do the same if I was given an opportunity to "redo." Then again, maybe I've forgotten stuff and just can't remember things I might have wanted to do......LOL.

Like Pat, I have been thinking about this question since it was posted.
But I'm 66. I can't think of anything that I could tell myself 5 years ago that I wouldn't already know at 61. Now it I could talk to myself 40 or 50 years ago ---

I'm with Raybar. Maybe not as much as 40/50 years, but a few decades would have helped. At least 22 years, I'd say.

Wow, it must be nice to be perfect after the age of 60. I guess I have a lot to learn. Lily, old gal...I tell my five-year younger self: "Shape up!" P.S. I might think of something to say to make myself rich--such as a lottery ticket number or something like that. Or nice to know who would win an election, etc. I think a lot could be got in within 30 seconds.

Wow, it must be nice to be perfect after the age of 60. I guess I have a lot to learn. Well, I'm hardly perfect. Just ask Miss Molly (She Who Must Be Obeyed). But it's a little late for the kind of sage advice that a mentor might have offered in my youth (had I had one and would actually have listened). But a winning lottery number -- now you're talking!
