So, Game of Thrones is done for the season, and we will have to wait about 40 weeks for it to resume. Whatever will I do on Sunday evenings? The series follows the books, more or less, with some changes and a bit of jumping around. But in this third season, they got about 3/4 of the way through A Storm of Swords the third book in the series. I had been wondering for weeks how they would cram so much story into the remaining few episodes. Answer -- they wouldn't. I think that they chose sensible points to pause the various story lines. Readers of the books may be disappointed that the season ended where it did, rather than completing the events in Storm of Swords, but there should be some excitement in the early episodes next year.

I miss Game of Thrones already. I remember how Happy! I was on the Sunday (March 31?) when the new season was due to premiere. Over the moon with excitement, spent the day catching up on the various seasons of the show by watching various HBO channels.
The Red Wedding was so shocking to me, so horrific. But that's what great drama is supposed to do, it's supposed to get you totally involved. I was.
I'm sad the show is over again, & feel 40 weeks is just too long to wait. I loved the last scene. I call it "Daenerys Within the Mosh Pit." I recall giving my vote in Dawn's thread on Guilty Pleasures that I think Daenerys will wind up taking everything. Also, now that Jon Snow is free of that witch! maybe my prediction when I watched the very first installment will come to pass!
I have absolutely no interest in the books or hearing about how the books are the same or different from the TV series----I'm sold on the show only.
Honestly can't recall being so involved, so Within, a show since childhood. I credit the writing, the acting, the sets, the costuming, Everything is so fantastic.
Can't die yet, have to watch Game of Thrones!

Have you registered for HBO GO? Watch all episodes of all their series, as well as many movies they have run, whenever you want. You can watch on your computer or get a little device to put it on your TV. (Disclaimer - I work at Warner Bros. and HBO is part of the Warner group of companies.)
Yeah, really. Especially right after Bran told the story of the gods never forgiving harming a guest. Or was it before? And George Martin proves once again that you can never know in advance which characters will be alive or dead at the end of the day.
Well, she is certainly one of the prime candidates. She has an army and an air force and a fierce determination. Jon Snow as king? The Realm could do worse. But Stannis also has an army and determination, and Tywin Lannister seems to be making all the right calls. The suspense is killing me. This (guessing here) will probably not be resolved until the last episodes/chapters of the series/books. And two more very thick novels have yet to be released.
I've heard that before.
