Cool. Always wonders if capacitors could be used instead of batteries.
Quickly charging phones and laptops etc., while it would be nice, isn't isn't much of an issue. I routinely plug things in overnight. But quickly charging would be a major step forward for electric cars. Presently they are fine for your daily commute, but useless for longer trips because of limited range.
Of course, if everything that currently runs on gasoline or diesel went electric, we would still have to generate the energy somehow. But it would be much easier to control emissions from a few power plants than from millions of vehicles.
