Sometimes I think parents think like pet owners.....long, unusual names with little regard to how their child will be impacted throughout their life with a "unique" moniker. Remember hearing of someone with the last name of Donnely naming their first daughter Donna Lee....not anything like some of the names in the article, but this person is now an adult.....wonder if she got any kind of flack growing up...

Because of having many customers who are immigrants, we are used to a lot of unusual names. Of course, most of them are common names in their native languages, and there is no reason for anyone to change her name just because she came to Los Angeles.
On the other hand, I've become a little impatient with creative spelling -- Tracy, Tracee, Trayce, and so on.
