Heck, even if we accept the Keynesian idea that government spending leads to economic recovery, pumping all that government money into warfare is beyond stupid. Spending it on infrastructure or services is an investment that has at least the potential to return its cost. All that wars do is destroy.
They might as well advocate setting that money on fire.
