Sorry Mike but that is just flat out wrong. If you re-read the articles, you will see that this crisis does not depend on who is in power at all. From the first article:

Owing to the above-average rate of inflation in the service, the NHS requires real-terms rises just to stand still. As a recent Social Market Foundation paper noted, "A ‘flat real’ settlement for the NHS is mot what it sounds like since it is defined with reference to an irrelevant price index. To keep up with rising input costs, growing demand, and the public’s expectations for an adequate healthcare system, growth in spending on health has historically outstripped GDP growth."

So a financial crisis eventually has to develop no matter who is in office. The NHS is leading the UK towards bankruptcy, and then no one will have care. The same thing happened recently in Greece when their government went broke.

And increased funding has nothing to do with this scandal:

Since the CQC became operational in 2009, however, the reality has been somewhat different. In fact, under the auspices of the CQC, the caring professions have stumbled from one scandal to another. In 2011, for instance, an undercover BBC Panorama team filmed carers shouting at, and slapping, elderly patients at the Winterbourne View care home. Earlier this year, the Francis Report into the high mortality rate at Mid-Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust hospitals reported that 200 to 300 deaths between 2005 and 2009 may have been caused by negligence. The report also uncovered appalling instances of neglect, from patients drinking water from vases to being left to lie in their own waste.

And now, following recent revelations that top-level CQC staff attempted to suppress the results of an investigation into the deaths of mothers and babies at Furness General Hospital, the CQC finds itself at the centre of a scandal.

Yet, the response to each scandal, even when it involves the regulator itself, has been uniform: a repeated call for more regulation and transparency in the healthcare sector.

And this from the last article:

The prime minister said two years ago, 'I refuse to go back to the days when people wait for hours in A&E.'

"He's broken that promise, hasn't he?"

What does that tell us? It tells us that there was already a crisis two years ago when Labor was still in power.

As for Libertarians not caring about the sick, that is simply absurd. We DO care. That is why we are against these failed government policies that do nothing for the sick except make their situation worse. Government is run by politicians and bureaucrats. They are not concerned with helping people. They are concerned with APPEARING to help people. All politicians and bureaucrats care about is increasing their own power. Do you deny this?
