Time passes all too quickly. How often have we remembered events in our own lifetimes which seem a short period ago -- only to calculate the dates and discover that decades have passed? When enough time passes, we label events "history" and people become names on pages. It's important to remember that these victims mattered to family, friends, and neighbors. Just because everyone involved has passed on doesn't detract from the value of the life cut short, or the pain of the people who were forced to carry on without their loved one. The following case is very old, but it still matters. #16. Elsie Paroubek en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elsie_Paroubek--Debutante

The following case is very well-known and ordinarily considered a "thrill kill". Yet, at the same time, Leopold and Loeb were known to be what the world then referred to as "sexual deviants". Given that the victim's body was found stripped and the proclivities of the perpetrators known -- I question whether the "ettiquite" of the times dictated public reports regarding details of the crime. Hence, its inclusion here. #17. Bobby Franks troytaylorbooks.blogspot.com/2013/05/chicagos-thrill-killers-their-perfect.html?m=1--Debutante

I'm probably in the minority, but I never approved of sending small children out to collect money for anything. I didn't care what the organization or cause was -- be it boy scouts selling Christmas wreaths, raffle tickets for a school team trip, or magazine subscriptions. The world is not a safe place and I never thought it was wise to send children out to peddle merchandise on the street. As the following case illustrates, I was not far off the mark. Delivering girl scout cookies led to the death of a young girl in Tennessee. #18. Marcia Trimble www.insidehook.com/article/action/city-shadows-1974-murder-marcia-trimble-changed-nashville-forever

I came upon this case this morning. It is so "new" that a motive has not yet been established. Therefore, I can't say for certain this crime had molestation as a factor. I included it because I am so upset that anyone would murder this precious, beautiful, little three year old girl. Her family called her "Cupcake". It breaks my heart. There is something very wrong in our society when people do this to children. This poor murdered baby must have been terrified. Ten days ago she was abducted from a park while attending a birthday party. This kind of thing can not continue. The left constantly tries to strip law enforcement of any power to act effectively. What will happen if they succeed in their efforts? Things are already bad. They will become even worse. The world has already lost "Cupcake". Each child is unique and irreplaceable. We can not afford to lose any more of our children. #19. Kamille McKinney www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7603049/Body-missing-Alabama-girl-2-charged.html--Debutante

Yet again, a child is disposed of in a waste container after being murdered. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS WORLD? This particular case I came upon this morning, and although it does not involve molestation -- I was struck by the fact that like "Cupcake" (who I posted about yesterday) this beautiful little girl was discarded like garbage. I have a theory. I believe the more evil and violence people are exposed to, the more immune they become to the idea of violence. For years, there have been those who have championed the "rights" of adults to see whatever passes for "entertainment". The problem is -- constant repetition of violent images has effects on people. In my own case, I was terrified of "monster movies" as a child. With the advent of computer imaging and a deluge of horrific images -- I hardly notice "scary monsters" in movies anymore. I've become immune to them. The same holds true for violence. I honestly believe that if people view enough violence, it blurs the line. In people who may be psychologically disturbed to begin with -- it can push them over the line and give them ideas on which to act. The question becomes if adult "freedoms" are worth losing our "Cupcakes" and "Nevaehs". I began this series of posts on child murders in the hope of bringing clarity to the heart of voters. In the final analysis, children can not care for themselves. It's up to adults to see to it that their world shines bright. #20. This case is particularly sad because the child was never reported missing. A side effect of illegal immigration is a reluctance to contact law enforcement for any reason.
Another notable point is that children are often passed to "trusted" extended family members without much consideration given to who else may be living in the same house.
And so, this little girl slipped through the cracks unbeknownst to her mother who, at first, believed the child was with her father.

Each and every case of child abduction, rape, and murder I've listed thus far just scratches the surface of the volume of crimes listed in this category.
No matter how many cases are brought to the public's attention, each and every one is equally heartbreaking.
I've found the ones with video footage to be the most compelling. If only it were possible to comfort the families of the victims -- or better yet, somehow be able to prevent such things from happening in the first place.
It is natural for empathetic people to want to do their part to make it "better" somehow. But we go on with our lives and forget.
We must not forget. We must remember these families will never forget what happened to their loved ones. And when we cast our votes in elections -- we must vote against those who believe pedophelia is "just another lifestyle choice."
If we do not advocate for the children, who will?

Sometimes, a predator claims two victims at the same time -- leaving a community with a wound that never really heals. The following article captures how the perception of a place changes-- due to its association with murder. #23. There isn't much information available on this case. It occurred this time of year -- October 29th of 1981 -- to be exact.
What's sad about this case is that the parents of this victim did get justice of a sort -- the killer (when identified) was already on death row for murdering another young girl. So they did see him executed -- but not for their daughter's killing.
This video has the most information -- but is a bit strange and for that, I do apologize. Whoever made it says he hopes you "enjoy the video" which, I personally think is a tactless remark when speaking of a child's demise. But the narrator sounds rather young -- so I decided not to be judgemental and use his video anyway.
