It would be a very good thing, if it works on people, because an old-people tsunami is rapidly heading our way. We're entering a unique period of human history in which more people are living longer than ever before. And that means that "old people" diseases will be sucking up a much greater percentage of financial and medical resources than our societies are prepared to deal with. Dementia, in all its forms, requires a huge effort just to keep the patients safe, fed, etc. Even a small decrease in such would save billions and free up workers for other, more serious diseases.
