Today began as one of the happiest days of my life.
I woke up to beautiful soft music!
This wonderful event occurred because Carl Grapentine retired. Carl and I don't know one another, but I've hated him for decades.
In order to have a successful marriage, some compromises have to be made. As a newlywed, I became aware that the man I just married had a clock radio. And that he likes to wake up to classical music. Who am I to interfere with a life long habit?
So I have have suffered for years-- it was because of Carl Grapentine. He WAS [Oh,how I love saying that in past tense!] the disc jockey for the early morning classical radio program. And he was as sadistic as can be!
Carl liked to play rousing marches in the morning. Or Wagner -- or anything obnoxiously loud and annoying that would blast you awake. How many times have I fantasized about grabbing that clock radio and throwing it out the window? Countless.
It has been decades of torture.
But Carl has FINALLY retired. And I can wake up to the soft, melodious tones of the new disc jockey.
And I can snuggle with my pillow in pure bliss. Such joy!

I'm happy for you, but hope that your Hubby doesn't notice and decide to change the station to another with more "arousing" music.

I don't know about "soft, melodious tones" as an alarm. Probably encourage me to go back to sleep instead of getting up.

If I wanted to use music as a wake-up alarm, I would use a trumpet playing the cavalry charge.

Now, Bob, if you want to use military bugle commands as your wake up call, they have a specific song for that.
Alternately, there's Irving Berlin's view
Or Betty Boop's

Oh my! Those selections are almost as bad as Carl's.
This was a particular favorite of his. Imagine this playing at 4AM.
