I've been following the kids stuck in the cave, and when I had a period of insomnia last night, I caught the news of four of the kids being rescued out of there. And now it will take another lots of hours before they can do it again. I am so claustrophobic I don't think I could really deal with that kind of condition just being there stuck underground, not to mention having to get out with swimming out in very tight tunnels. OMG. I will not stop watching that until they are all out safely. And I have to really admire these Navy seals of various countries that are risking their lives in this endeavor.

Not really following it, but it's been included in every news program and newspaper I've seen in recent days.
It was reported that there are signs posted outside the cave warning people not to enter during rainy season. So, I expect the coach will be asked by both the parents and the police, why in the hell would you take a bunch of kids in there?

Yes, correct, you haven't been following the story. The parents have sent a letter to the coach that they don't blame the coach.
I'm really trying to start some kind of conversation here, but as anyone can see, it's more than apathy than anything else.
Thank you, Raybar for today, but mostly it takes days to get a response, if ever.
I'm going back to a message board where there are still living and breathing people.

Lily - I usually only look at the board once a day, first thing in the morning. So it's not impossible that I won't see a post for 23.5 hours. Some days I'm around more, but not often. Sorry.

Lily,
I've been mostly offline the past two days so I didn't see your post until now.
I know Navy Seals can swim, but I have always had the impression that to "cave dive" you have to have special training.
Caves are really dangerous. And guy I knew in college went cave diving with a group and somehow got separated from the group. His equipment got hooked by something and he was unable to get loose. He drowned (or would it be suffocation because he ran out of air?)
I never liked the guy (he was obnoxious) but I wouldn't have wished dying by that set of circumstances on anyone.
I've read just the basics on this case. Is there a time limit on how quickly they need to rescue these kids?

Oh, boy. lol Not exactly tuned in, are we? So far eight boys have been rescued out of the cave. Tomorrow they'll try the rest (I'm not sure it'll also be the coach the same day). I try not to think of it too deeply because just thinking about it gives me claustrophobia.

Fred When there are only five or six active members, I guess that's all one could expect. I still have not heard a good explanation of why FACTS is so poster deprived. There are actually a lot of message boards with 500 and up to a couple of thousand members lists, with around 30 to 50 members logged in at any one time. Is it Proboards that is the problem in that their forums can't be easily found?

I think proboards seems mostly a spot for tiny forums like FACTS, most of the large boards I frequent have their own website to go with.
