You’re not alone. I looked up Sia on Wikipedia over the weekend and it seems that her videos have upset a large number of people. Many complaints. I found this one creepy, but mostly because of the girl’s acting. What totally freaks me out are those little-girl beauty contests where they tart up the kids with heavy makeup and slut outfits. I can’t watch those at all. 8-<

But then I have little tolerance for most 'reality' television. The only time I see it is if they make fun of it on The Soup.

Good old Arlo. What are you going to post in November, Lily? The one about a motorcycle? No, The one about flying in from London? Nah. Maybe something more political. ---

I have no idea what you mean, Raybar.

I wonder if you're joking, Lily, but in case you're not familiar with these Arlo Guthrie songs --
tho one about the motorcycle = The Motorcycle Song
the one about flying in from London = Coming In To Los Angeles
something more political = Aline's Restaurant Massacre (two youtube versions posted above)

No, just joking, Raybar. I really don't know much about Arlo Guthrie songs. Lol I selected that version of Waimanalo Blues because it was the only one that had some action in it. The one I really wanted to post is by Country Comfort but it had only one static picture. I heard it played this morning on the radio for one specific reason that was announced yesterday.

Sorry, that should have said "not joking", not "just joking".

I like Bollywood music, but I just now discovered that my favorite Bollywood songs are something called "Bhangra". It's a mix of Punjabi folk music and British rock of the 1980s. Here's a sample. Like Bollywood films, a bit too long. But everyone seems to be so happy. 8->
Mitran Da Naa Chalda - Harjit Harman

I really like that song, Fred. I have not seen that movie yet.
I just saw a Bollywood film you might enjoy called Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani:
One of my favorite films is Bollywood Hollywood and this is my favorite songs from it:

There's something I like about Bollywood films in general. At least the musical ones. An Indian woman I work with doesn't like those and she loaned me some regular drama Indian movies. Sigh. I kept waiting for the songs to start. 8->

For months, I had a melody in my ear that I couldn't shake off, except I didn't remember either the lyrics, nor the actual title of the song.
I just found out yesterday that that song happened to be Holiday Road, of National Lampoon's Vacation fame.

Well, thanks so much for Holiday Road because it reminds me of some other song.
At least I think it does.
But I have no idea what that other song might be.
And it might just be reminding me of itself.
So I may be checking in to Bellview, or maybe Bedlam, in a few days.
And then on to the Fun Home for a little peace and quite.

They're playing that song a lot these days in ads for the new version of NL Vacation.

Oh wow, that video brings back memories. Now the song is going to be in my brain for a while. I haven't seen the new NL Vacation film. Is it good? We just saw a rather quirky Peter O'Toole film on Netflix this week called ' Talking to Dean Spanley'. It's about reincarnation and nothing at all what I was expecting. DH and I both enjoyed it though.

I love those girl groups lily, & was so lucky to have seen them Live, many times, in the old Murray the K shows in downtown Brooklyn. I believe I still have some programs from those days. Classic, thanks!

Classic, thanks! Thanks, Joan. Here's another great girl group from that era. There's so many good ones, it's hard to pick. But if you want to get up and dance, there's this:

Oh sure!!!!!!!!! It's the Shirelles & the Ronettes who were my top favorites! The Shirelles for their great songs & Shirley's splendid leads. The Ronettes, so tough & RAD. Unlike me, a shy 13 year old. I did aspire, I guess!
