Yeah! They built everything. And all they have to do is get rid of those evil rich people to make a paradise on Earth. Like they did in the Soviet Union (Millions killed) Mao's China (Millions killed and starved) Cambodia (over 20% of the nation killed within a few years) and Venezuela (people are starving and millions have fled).
Solidarity Forever (in torture chambers and the Graveyard).

I wasn't aware of American labor unions killing "millions" in the Soviet Union, Mao's China, or Cambodia.
Perhaps you are confusing labor unions with some other organization, such as the government?

It's the same old crap about how the workers do everything and don't need the Capitalist bosses. Yeah, right. Just like the Soviet Union and Mao's China. A "worker's paradise" where millions were killed. The IWW didn't kill millions for the simple reason that they never had political power. The only reason the IWW didn't kill millions is because they were never able to seize the government. Bob

Again, what does this have to do with labor unions?

It was a revolutionary group that wanted to take over. BOB

Why would anybody employ workers that don't work? Also, I note that you did not include a direct quote. Please show your work and make proper citations next time.

I'm not having a discussion with "some." I'm discussing this with you. Are you making that claim? The song you posted speaks for itself. It is a call to get rid of the rich bosses so a new society can rise from the ashes. The problem is where did those ashes come from? Really? Where in that link does it say that? I looked through the whole article and I didn't find that claim. Bob

You forgot the part about getting rid of the bosses. Which part would that be? These. Let's see: The bosses are parasites (just like the Nazi comparison of Jews to rats). The world is owned by "idle drones." But "it is ours". "We can break their haughty power." And what exactly that part about "rising from the ashes?" You can't have "ashes" unless you have a fire first. What do you do with parasites? You exterminate them. First the Nazis compared Jews to parasites (rats). Then they killed them. Bob

So what you are saying is that your claims rely not on actual textual evidence, but a creative interpretation that has nothing to do with the actual words that are being said. Thanks for clearing that up.

Thanks for clearing that up. LOL! What "creative interpretation?" The text is clear. The rich are "parasites." It's right there in the text. So where is the interpretation? Bob

Apparently you haven't bothered to read your own post.

Bob,
I'm going to take him at his word.
Obviously, he takes a literal view of the song.
So, I'll run with it. LOL!
Tell us McCans, which parasites oppress the workers?
Lice?
Bedbugs?
Intestinal worms?
And PLEASE TELL US how unionizing will solve this problem! I can't wait to hear this -- ha,ha,ha,ha.
There is no end to your absurdity.

Bob
And where do you see the explicit connection between "the greedy parasite" and "the rich"?
Couldn't the line also be talking about Mexicans, socialists, or the unemployed?

So you are claiming that the Mexicans or the unemployed are trying to "lash us into serfdom?" Don't you think that's a bit of a stretch?
