I sometimes have to laugh at the universe. If it was going to point me in a direction (by using synchronicity) you'd think it would be on some earth shattering issue...
But no!!!
The universe speaks to me about my menu.
Whilst perusing Pinterest last night, I came upon a food related photo from a blog. The woman who writes it had decided to post the most popular regional recipes from all fifty states (alphabetically). This struck me as an entertaining topic -- so I clicked on the first entry -- Alabama.
Among the recipes -- was one for "Tomato Pie". Apparently, according to the blurb it's a very popular dish among Southerners. Being from Chicago (and then a suburbanite) I had never heard of this item. But it struck me as being something I would like to try but only because I wanted to be able to say I had tried such a unique (for our area) item. So I dutifully copied the recipe for this masterpiece.
Later that night, I told my husband that I was going to make this item I'd never heard of -- "Tomato Pie" -- that I'd just read about a few hours earlier. He said that was funny because up until a few hours earlier, he had never heard of it either. However, he gets emails from a gardening blog that occasionally sends recipes for home grown veggies -- and that very evening they had sent one for "Tomato Pie".
Now what are the odds of a married couple (neither of whom have ever heard of this item) both finding out of its existence within an hour or so of one another from separate sources?
I can't imagine why the universe has called "Tomato Pie" to our attention. It's just weird. Anyhow, I will let you know what it tastes like once I make this masterpiece. If it turns out any good, I'll post the recipe.
