Because of the concern over the government shutdown and the debt ceiling crisis, nobody is noticing that Obamacare is in a meltdown.

I have read only the quotation posted above, and don't really know enough about this issue to form an opinion. But this sentence from the quote is nonsense: "If the federal government can’t manage a simple Web site, how on earth is it going to manage the health care of millions of Americans?"
It may be structurally flawed (I don't know), it may need to be replace entirely (I don't know), but it is a large and complex piece of software. Simple it is not.

I'm disgusted with you. Bob. This so-called Washington Post article is an opinion piece from a highly biased individual. www.washingtonpost.com/marc-a-thiessen/2011/02/24/ABwzFYN_page.htmlI announced that I would no longer be reading and/or replying to the Political Board, but HELL! How can I avoid reading the thread titles as you just posted. Here I am avoiding as much as possible the news about the idiotic Republicans bent on screwing up our country, and I have to read your crap! This is not what I want out of the FACTS board. If anyone with some tech skills can show me how to black out the Political Forum, I would greatly appreciate it. But I highly doubt it.

Just use some old-fashioned self-restraint.

It may be structurally flawed (I don't know), it may need to be replace entirely (I don't know), but it is a large and complex piece of software. Simple it is not. The Administration had 3 years to prepare that software and test it. They blew it. And that's not the only snafu by any means. Obama announced that part of the Obamacare law would not be implemented, that large corporations would now have until 2015 before they comply with the law. Why? Because the law cannot be implemented! That law is a 2,000 page piece of junk that was thrown together without thought and is loaded with pork. On top of that, they can't even implement it. This is the centerpiece of Obama's administration. Getting it going should be his number one priority. Either Obama lacks the ability to make it work, or he doesn't care if it does. Bob Marks

That opinion piece was from the Washington Post, a highly respected LIBERAL newspaper. And that article does state FACTS. 1) It is a fact that the software isn't working well. 2) It is a fact that the Health and Human Services Secretary doesn't know how many people have actually signed up for Obamacare. And this is the cabinet officer responsible for the implementation! Facts are facts Lily. Whether we like them or not. Bob Marks

Bob, the opinion piece is from an anti-Obama conservative republican. Just because you can't THINK doesn't mean the rest of us can't!!! It is a biased report. You don't think we haven't read the whole damn opinion piece and the rest of the crap the man has written? You don't like the Affordable Health Care Act. We KNOW that. Bob, but it's going to happen, and you can just keep quoting article after article. It doesn't matter because it's going to happen! People have until mid-December to sign up to have their health in insurance be effective on January 1, 2014. You can write until your fingers drop off. It doesn't matter because it's going to happen. Did you get that? I'll say it louder: IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN! Deal with it.

My point is that it is going to be a disaster, and the disaster has already started. Bob Marks

And I know that's what Astrology has told you. Just like you said that in at least the past two years there would be a horrible economic downturn, when in fact the economy has improved. Now I understand you. You're wishing for the worst so that your predictions can come true. Your pals Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, et al, are in your camp. So despair not. If they have their wish, your prediction still has time to come true. Smile Bob. Smile and the world smiles with you, Cry and you'll have the company of your tea party compadres.

"So I got a letter from Bluecross Blueshield, my health insurance provider, on Saturday. It explained that my current plan, the plan I chose to fit my individual needs, does not comply with Obamacare and thus had to be cancelled. It went on to say that I shouldn't worry because I had been automatically moved to new plan that does meet the new Obamacare requirements. The details of my new plan are just excellent. My deductible went from $1500 up to $2500, that's 66%. My limit on annual out of pocket expenses went up from $1500 to $6350, up 323%. I'm now covered for a bunch of things I don't want or need, like mental illness inpatient and substance abuse inpatient treatment coverage. Now a rational person might assume that when something I chose to buy, and wanted to keep was taken from me, it would at least cost less to pay for the thing that was forced onto me. Well that's the best part! My monthly premium went up from $139.50 to $229.19, an increase of 65%! I get to pay MORE for something I don't even want... Remember when our fearless leader said if we like our current plan we can keep it? I know I'm not the only person experiencing this. Please share your story, people have to understand what's happening here. And please support Ted Cruz and his allies in the senate. He's one of the few people trying to save us from this monstrosity.- Shane Jensen"

Invalid link. And besides those kind of health care monthly payments would be a dream even with the increase, which proves you don't know what you are talking about. You, sir, don't now what you're talking about. I have paid over $600 (US dollars) every month over four years until finally I got onto medicare. I am glad, glad, glad that I am now old and will not have to spend many more years living with the likes of you. I am glad, glad, glad that after I'm dead and gone you, sir, will still have to put up with your kind. which there will be without a doubt many more like you and good luck!
P.S. Which by the the way, I'm pretty sure you're actually Bob. I'm psychic, Bob, in case you're wondering.

No Lily, you don't need Astrology to tell you about Obamacare. The plan itself has told me. It is unworkable. Bob Marks P.S. At this point Lily, you don't have to be an astrologer to see that there is an economic disaster coming. The national debt keeps getting bigger and bigger. How will it ever be paid off? Politicians only care about winning the next election. That's why they borrow money. The principle isn't due for 30 years. By that time, it is another politician's problem.
