I wish we could be here the way we once were.

We never can. The past is past, and there is no way to bring it back.

We never can. The past is past, and there is no way to bring it back. True. But we do have a say about the future.
Bob
P.S. Hi McAnswer. How have you been?

Go away, Bob. I'm done talking to you.
I was replying to Lily.

Geeze Louse, Bob. You really had to argue that? Doesn't say much good about any changes upcoming at FACTS.

That was not an argument on Bob's part. It was a statement of fact.

That was not an argument on Bob's part. It was a statement of fact. --Debutante That's exactly the point. And only as a p.s. did Bob think about asking after Mcans. Way too much cerebral and not enough actual feelings. Typical. And I don't care to make this into a further debate. And there is no way that FACTS is going to get better in any future.

But he did ask.
Men do not (as a rule) operate in the same fashion as women. They are far more action oriented. It makes perfect sense for Bob to comment on the topic at hand first -- it's a form of problem solving.
Women are more prone to address friendship issues first and make that their priority.
Neither is "better" than the other. It's just a mark of different approaches between the two sexes.
It might be the "fashion" to claim people are all the same -- but that isn't true. Men and women react different.

But I wasn't referencing all men and women. I was referencing Bob, the individual, and how he typically operates, which was part of the reason that Mcans left to begin with. Bob may be the sweetest person on the planet, but on FACTS he sucks. My personal opinion, of course, and I'm not asking anyone to like it.

Bob is a true gentleman. Not many would note your "opinion" without replying in kind. I have never seen him address you without respect.

That's why I said I don't want to further debate this. As I said, I don't care if anybody likes my opinion or not. It's mine, and that's the way I feel!!! Bye already on this topic.
FACTS hurts my head!

Wehmut.Sehnsucht.Heimweh.
German has so many words to express feelings of longing for a place or a time that is far away, and may never come back...
Whatever you do, Lily, whether you're staying here or leaving, just know that I'm glad we shared a time together on this forum, back when it was still fun to discuss things.
Highs or lows, FACTS was bittersweet, like so many things...
Sorry if I'm rambling. Hope you're doing okay, wherever you are.

Regarding "Taking Me Home Country Roads" I listened to that song before I visited Vienna for that first time after 40 years. I had a feeling of Heimeh for that place where I was born and especially me being the child of my mom whose first home was there so I have family there. My cousin and I at that first visit had a meal in a little diner near to where I was staying and they had a jukebox, and John Denver's song came on. It was both a real and unreal moment and sometimes serendipity happens that way, and I like to feel meanings in things like that.
Your second video was one that was not allowed to be viewed in the U.S. for some reason (there's always some opaque reasons for things that don't make much sense). So, I posted one that can be viewed here.
Yes, thank you. I feel the same way that we did have the time to have shared together. And there were some fun times. I was tickled for the unlikely event that someone from Vienna would be posting here. I wish you could have been on FACTS early on. Even though there were contentious times then, too, compared to today, it felt like a walk in a lovely meadow. There were weeds, yes, but that is what made it real and as much as possible kind. Yes, it got muddy in the weeds sometimes, but overall kind.
I hope, too, that all is well with you, and that it will stay that way. Maybe someday will find us on some same forum somewhere.

Lily & mcans
I hope all is well for you both, and wish you all the best. Please know that you are always welcome here - - for however long it may continue, anyway.
