The problem is that Foucault's quote is an attempt at knowledge. He is telling us something about the world. Therefore, by his own standards, Foucault is being unjust and malicious.

Have you read the quote in context?

Thank you for that link Ray. The "context" starts from the last paragraph on pg. 162 and continues to the first paragraph of pg. 164. This "context" consists of a string of dogmatic assertions with no supporting evidence at all. The irony is that Foucault claims to be giving us objective knowledge while, at the same time, denying that there is any objective knowledge.
Foucault's "context" is self-referentally inconsistent.

So your argument is just the usual "postmodernism is self contradictory" blah blah that I've already adressed in our previous discussion on the topic.
You're welcome to read the whole thing (not that you ever will).

So your argument is just the usual "postmodernism is self contradictory" blah blah that I've already adressed in our previous discussion on the topic. Argument by Name Calling. Saying that my points are "blah blah" is not the same as refuting them. Postmodernists make statements that sound like they are talking about objective truth. Unfortunately, these are claims that deny that But you haven't addressed it. All you've done is make comments about "context." All Foucault does in the three pages I read is make unsupported dogmatic claims. Some supporting evidence would be nice. Have you read the whole thing? Does he ever give even the slightest bit of supporting evidence? You're welcome to look through his whole book to try to find some (not that you ever will). Bob

You are welcome to go back to our previous discussion on postmodernism and re-read the responses I wrote to adress your claim that postmodernism refutes itself.
I'm not going to waste time rehashing this debate for the 100th time.

In other words, you have no evidence from Foucault's text to support your claim that quote I posted was taken out of context.
