A team from UC-Berkeley found a way to hide commands that only Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri can hear in white noise, human voices or music. Hasn't been used by hackers yet, but it's only a matter of time. Unless the flaw can be fixed, very quickly. Haven't we seen this movie before? 8->
A company called Securus (irony?) says that it can track nearly any cell phone in the US within seconds. This is because our carriers regularly sell our location to third parties with no customer consent and little oversight.
Facebook gets all the press, but virtually any company you do business with is selling your info to someone. Yes, you can get rid of your phone, computer, credit cards, bank account, car, etc. and only deal in cash. But that path leads to a padded cell somewhere. Accept it - privacy is an illusion. Always was. Get on with your life. 8->

You really can't live completely "off the grid" unless you do without any modern anything.
We know one man in Canada who did that as much as he possibly could. Didn't own property, no utility bills, no drivers license, no medical history, etc. But then the usual old age difficulties came along, and the health and welfare systems had never heard of him. And the tax people, once they did hear of him, wondered how much tax they should charge him for his entire adult lifetime.
