Tomorrow is the season finale of My Little Pony! There's seven new songs (one of which has already been released -- check the link). I love the song and the animation is really cute -- particularly the little flamingo dance by Twilight Sparkle. family-room.ew.com/2013/02/15/my-little-pony-friendship-is-magic-finale-clip/The episode is about destiny and supposedly Twilight becomes an alicorn and crowned as a princess at the end! Miss America is supposedly guesting as commercial narrator (much like Tori Spelling did for the pony wedding episodes). Anyhow...this franchise is well worth watching for animation fans. Rumor has it there's a movie being planned for the future... --Debutante

Hi Deb,
I've checked and My Little Pony is available for streaming on Netflix, so I'm going to view some to see for myself.
I recently resubscribed to Netflix being that it is available on Kindle Fire.

Dear Lily: I don't know much about Netflix -- but if it is a set price for no matter how much you watch -- then I'd suggest starting at the beginning of Season 1. The episodes are pretty much complete in themselves (except for two-part episodes). However, the character development is what gives the show it's charm. Today's episode, for example, wouldn't have the impact it does if you hadn't watched the six characters over time. I've several favorite episodes -- but really, all of them are enjoyable. Episode lists (so you view them in order if you want) can be found on the wiki. Here's a link: mlp.wikia.com/wiki/My_Little_Pony_Friendship_is_Magic_WikiToday's episode was really good -- but I felt it should have been done in two parts -- especially since they had seven songs in a twenty two minute timeframe. However, they made it work! Still -- I'd have enjoyed a bit more exposition on several points. --Debutante

Deb,
Netflix is $8.00 per month for unlimited streaming. They have all of Season 1 and 2 in order, including the two-part episodes.

I've watched the first two seasons on Netflix, and can't wait till the third is on there too. Even playing a MLP ipad game that is a little addicting. Brony-Marc

Brony-Marc: Don't you know what Brony refers to? If you did, you wouldn't use it.

What do you think it refers to?
Every use I see of it refers to a male fan of MLP

And where did you hear that definition?
I've not heard of that anywhere before. In the Urban Dictionary there are 7 entries for Brony. 6 are for fans of MLP, one for a town in Poland, none of them mention masturbation that I saw.
It sounds more like this is a fringe definition used by people who want to disparage MLP fans, rather than common usage.

Around these parts it IS the definition. Wow you pony people sure are sensitive! :-) Just passing on a friendly warning, take it or not.

Dear Joan: No -- actually "Bronie" is a portmanteu of the words "brother" and "pony". Of course, one could apply Rule#34 to the MLP universe (as you can to anything and everything else). www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=rule+34However, most Bronies just like the show because of the superior writing. There is some crossover by furries (because of course, the ponies are animals). Also there is some clop fanfiction as well. However, that's pretty much the minority. Most Bronies are just people who are not ashamed to admit they like a program originaly aimed at a female demographic. The Bronies have their own website called "Equestria Daily". On it, you'll find, fan art, fan fiction, and occasional commentary from the writers and voice actors. Occasionally Lauren Faust (who originally pitched the reboot to Hasbro) will comment. I believe she held the title of executive producer for Seasons 1 &2. There are also several MLP conventions. Bronycon (on the east coast), Midwestria (around my area) and there's one on the West coast but I forget what they call that one. Those are very similar to anime conventions with cos-play, panels chaired by writers and voice actors and an opportunity to buy merchandise that is not yet available in retail stores. I have never attended a MLP convention but I have attended several AnimeCentral conventions when my daughter and her friends were underage and needed to be chaperoned. Cartoons are viewed much differently than they were when we were young. I attribute that to the popularity of Japanese anime. You really need to view the show and you'll see why it's so popular. Often it's the little things in the background which illustrate the care the animators/writers put into their work. And of course, each pony has a unique and charming personality -- so it's very possible to have a "favorite". My favorite pony: Fluttershy Watch a few episodes and I predict you'll get hooked! --Debutante

Very cool, the Military Bronies. Gonna have to look for a Pegasai squad in the air force. also reminds me of Inglourious Ponies:
