At my last job, I had an office with a large picture window that looked out over some trees and bushes. It was only a floor and a half high and so I could see everything below very nicely. One day two mongoose came out to the clearing and began playing together. It touched my heart because mongoose here are considered an intrusive pest even though they were brought to the islands to kill rats. The problem was that rats come out at night when the mongoose are asleep. Somebody really dropped the ball on that plan. Anyway, this song always reminds me of that day that the mongoose pair were having a good time.
I've been playing polka music pretty much all morning. This is actually my favorite polka but it's not the best rendition I've heard -- the tempo is too slow and they've got it in a weird key. My brother's band played it far better back in the day. When it's fast and in the right key -- you can really dance!
